Proving God without the bible

‘Monologion’ ‘Proslogion’

The Ontological argument

“God is that than which nothing greater can be perceived”Discuss

Is this persuasive?

What is attractive about not using the bible in our evangelism? What are some problems with this?

But we need God’s revelation to show us what he is like

John 1:18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.

The armed robber...

Why is it tempting to leave the bible to one side during our evangelism? Why is bible-evangelism more a strength than a weakness?

Jesus paid our debt to God, not to Satan.

Cur Deus Homo – ‘Why God became man’

Anslem vs ‘Bozo’

The debt needs to be paid, but we can’t pay it!

1 Peter 3:18: for Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit

Anslem realised our ultimate problem wasn't with Satan, but it was with God What do we tend to think our biggest problems in life are?

What do we lose if we think our greatest need to be freed from x,y,z, rather than God's anger? How does this help us appreciate the cross more?
